In addition to drafting compliance programs and compliance policies and procedures, Barrett Law has significant experience evaluating existing compliance programs and conducting compliance effectiveness reviews. Consistent with recent guidance issued by the OIG, including its 2023 General Compliance Program Guidance and 2024 ICPG for Nursing Facilities, and the DOJ’s most recent changes to its Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Program, Barrett Law helps organizations maintain an effective compliance program. This includes reviewing both the compliance program documents themselves as well as evaluating how the compliance program is being implemented (e.g., what compliance policies are in place and are they being followed; are hotline calls coming in and are they being investigated and tracked; is compliance training effective, etc.). Over the years, Barrett Law has also served as an Independent Review Organization (IRO) under Corporate Integrity Programs (CIAs). As an IRO, Barrett Law gained extensive experience in monitoring entitles’ compliance with CIAs and established collegial relationships with OIG monitors.
